Since 1998, Fractured Atlas has been helping independent and emerging artists raise money, obtain affordable healthcare, and reach new audiences. Help us TELL THE WORLD WHY THE ARTS ARE IMPORTANT by creating short web videos. Total Award Amount: $3000

Guidelines: The video should be 20-60 seconds in length, should speak to one of the three listed themes, and should incorporate our name “Fractured Atlas”, our logo, our website address www.fracturedatlas.org, and our tagline “Liberate the Artist”.

Company/Brand/Product Background: Fractured Atlas (www.fracturedatlas.org) is a non-profit organization that serves a national community of artists and arts organizations. Our programs and services facilitate the creation of art by offering vital support to the artists who produce it. We help artists and arts organizations function more effectively as businesses by providing access to funding, healthcare, education, and more, all in a context that honors their individuality and independent spirit. By nurturing today’s talented but underrepresented voices, we hope to foster a dynamic and diverse cultural landscape of tomorrow.

Marketing Objectives: Help us TELL THE WORLD WHY THE ARTS ARE IMPORTANT by creating short web videos around one of the following themes: A 20-60 second video, both in native uncompressed format and also flash encoded, that addresses one or more of the following themes: How the arts make the world a better place You can relate a personal story about how the arts have made a positive impact or you could place the arts in a social context. What inspired you to become an artist? Was it another piece of art? Were you inspired by a mentor? Tell us a story or recreate a moment. Liberate the Artist This has been the Fractured Atlas credo for nearly ten years. What does the phrase Liberate the Artist inspire in you? We’re looking for narratives, documentaries, dramas, comedies, video collages, confessionals, animations, light paintings, dance videos, 16 millimeter films, MiniDV, Cell Phone cams, machinima and every other kind of video art we haven’t heard of yet. We’re hoping to find material that is edgy, sincere, irreverent, funny, dramatic, or just plain engaging. We will select three of the videos to be screened on November 8th, 2007 at the swanky Fractured Atlas Benefit in New York City.

Technical Requirements: The maximum file size for any video file uploaded to GeniusRocket is 100 MB. Video file(s) submitted to your GeniusRocket account must be provided in one of the following formats: avi, mov, mpg, or wmv.
