Contestants should profile an American Neighbor who epitomizes selflessness in service to a cause greater than their own self-interest. This could be an active member of the military or veteran; a first-responder, nurse, or doctor; a pastor or rabbi; a teacher or classmate; a family member or co-worker; anyone who is making a difference in their community and has a story waiting to be told.
Visitors to the GOP Convention YouTube page (www.youtube.com/GOPConvention2008) will vote from among the five finalists. Voting will take place June 27 – July 3, 2008. The winner will be announced on July 4, 2008.
The winning video will be played during the official proceedings of the 2008 Republican National Convention. The producer of the video, and the person profiled, will be invited to attend the convention in St. Paul, Minnesota in early September.
