You’ve seen them at the beginning of “the simpsons” for two decades. Now here’s your chance to create your own couch gag. In honor of the “Best. 20 Years. Ever.”, FOX, MySpace and the producers of “The Simpsons” invite you to create and share your very own original live-action Couch Gag video.
The Grand Prize Winner and Guest will receive a trip to L.A. and an invitation to the annual “The Simpsons” Fall Launch Party, plus a Home Entertainment System and a custom drawing of “The Simpsons.” The Fan Favorite Winner will win a “The Simpsons” Prize Pack.
Contest is open only to legal residents of the fifty United States and Washington D.C., who are at least eighteen years of age or the age of legal majority in their state of primary residence at time of entry. Submission period ends on May 18, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
CONTEST JUDGING: Submissions will be judged by a panel of judges consisting of network, studio and The Simpsons® executives as selected by Contest Entities to select the one Grand Prize winner. All decisions of the Judging Panel are final on all aspects of the Contest. Submissions will be scored based on the following criteria:
- 1. Creativity: 40%
- 2. Composition: 20%
- 3. Originality: 20%
- 4. Quality of execution: 20%
FAN FAVORITE WINNER SELECTION: During the Fan Favorite Voting Period members of the general public will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite Submissions. Submissions will be judged solely on the subjective opinions of the persons who choose to participate in the selection process. Members of the general public will be invited to rank each Submission by following the onscreen prompts to rank each Submission on a scale of 1-10 (1 being lowest and 10 being highest). The Submission which receives the highest average rating during the Fan Favorite Voting Period will be declared the Fan Favorite Prize Winner.
PRIZES:
Grand Prize Package: The Grand Prize Winner will receive: one 3 day/2 night trip for the winner and one guest to Los Angeles, CA to attend The Simpsons® Treehouse/Fall Launch Party. The trip will consist of the following: (a.) round-trip coach air transportation for two people from the major airport nearest Winner’s residence to Los Angeles, California; (b.) two (2) nights standard hotel accommodations for Winner and his/her guest at a hotel selected by Contest Entities (one room; double occupancy and room tax only); (c.) admission for Winner and his/her guest to The Simpsons® Treehouse/Fall Launch Party; (d.) a home entertainment system (including a 40” Flat-Panel LCD HDTV and a Home Theater System with Upconvert DVD Player; and (e.) a custom The Simpsons drawing. ARV of Grand Prize: $3029.98.
Fan Favorite Prize: The Fan Favorite Prize Winner will receive a “The Simpsons®” merchandise prize package.
