Every year, companies spend over $18 billion on market research. Until now, $3 billion of this spending has been offered to consumers in exchange for the time they spend on surveys. What if this $3 billion in research spending could go to the charities that need it most?

That’s where Pause to Support a Cause comes in.  Pause to Support a Cause is an international initiative that makes it possible for you to support your favorite charity by donating a fraction of your time to a survey.

Create video ads to be used as public service announcements by Pause to Support a Cause and the CMO Council to promote awareness of their campaign.

The ads should be created with consumers around the world in mind, and explain why they should participate in the Pause to Support a Cause initiative to make the world a better place.

Due: 02/05/10 11:59pm (Pacific Time).

The Jury

Grand Jury prize and Jury Prize winners will be selected by a jury of over 30 Chief Marketing Officers, Executives, and Creative Directors from Fortune 500 companies, Non-Profit Organizations and Media Agencies from across the globe.

Two runners up will each receive a trip to New York ($1750 value) and an opportunity to showcase their portfolio in front of the creative heads of some of the largest advertising and media companies in North America.

Zooppa and Community Awards

The best work will be showcased at the CMO Council’s Global Summit meeting in February of 2009, and featured in an online gallery on their website.

Additionally, every entrant qualifies for the selection and inclusion of their work in a new online Non-Profit Creative Sourcing Center (on the Pause to Support a Cause web site) that will connect you with causes seeking to better present and take their public service messages to donors worldwide. The CMO Council will also feature and promote the Creative Sourcing Center on their affiliate websites.
