The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department Tobacco Prevention Settlement Program has launched a video PSA contest to encourage local teens and young adults to take action against the harmful effects of tobacco use in Hollywood films. The contest, called Reel Change, is accepting entries of 30-second anti-smoking Public Service Announcements (PSAs) from teens and young adults ages 14 through 25.
This contest is open to individuals who are residents of Santa Barbara County ages 14 through 25 or currently enrolled at a high school, college, university or other higher education institution in Santa Barbara Country.
Submission period ends 11:59 PM PST December 31, 2009.
Winners shall be chosen by Judging Panel at its sole discretion based upon which entrants display the most original, authentic, and accurate, and compelling submission.
One college age and one high school age grand prize will be awarded. The winning PSAs will be displayed prior to movies in Santa Barbara area theaters, and receive a prize package.
