Here’s Your Big Shot
Oxygen’s kicking off its next all-female talent contest and giving one fabulous, funny lady a shot at her own broadband series on shedidwhat.tv! Get in on all the action! Make a 3 to 5 minute concept video and write a two-page treatment for your series.
Entries will be judged by a panel of development and production experts from Oxygen. The top five finalists will be brought to New York to pitch their series to celebrity judge and comedy movie star, Molly Shannon and an elite panel of judges from the film and television industry based on the following criteria:
(a) clarity and originality of series premise/theme: 20%;
(b) series development (e.g. engages audience from episode to episode): 20%;
(c) humor: 20%;
(d) fit with Oxygen/shedidwhat.tv brands: 20%; and
(e) feasibility of executing concept with $75,000 series budget
The winning entry will be:
Bold, sassy, surprising, unapologetic, confident and exude your unique personality.
Comedy genre
10 to 13 episodes, each 3 to 5 minutes in length, targeted at Women18-39.
One Lucky Winner wil receive:
$75,000 production budget to produce their series
A six month (or more!) broadband series on SheDidWhat.tv
Experienced show-runner to help them develop and produce their series
Promotion of their broadband series on Oxygen.
You might even end up seeing your winning series on Oxygen!
NOTE: Sponsor shall have financial and creative control over all episodes of the Series prior to the airing of such episodes and the Budget. The Budget may include, without limitation, fees for the winner and travel expenses for winner in connection with the Series.
Important Constraints:
Entrants must be available to travel to New York city on dates in September and/or October 2007 selected by Sponsor for a maximum of 2 nights/3 days. The winner must be available to participate in prize-related activities on dates in January and February 2008 selected by Sponsor. Individuals who have any network television, cable television, or motion picture credits as a producer, writer, executive producer, creator or otherwise are not eligible to enter or win. Only individuals can enter the Contest; pairs and teams of entrants are not eligible to enter.
Submission materials:
(a) a typewritten treatment which should be no more than two (2) pages (or approximately 1,000 words) in length for a broadband comedy series that will have a broad appeal to women between the ages of 18 and 39; the treatment should include the series concept and as well as explains how the series will develop over the course of between 10 and 13 episodes, each 3-5 minutes in duration.
(b) a pitch video/concept tape for the broadband series which should be no more than 5 minutes in duration and should bring the series idea and comic tone to life.To enter this video contest click here.
